Exercise #10c:

Who is Jackie Robinson

he became the university's first student to win varsity letters in four sports. Robinson served as a second lieutenant in the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army in 1944, Robinson played baseball. Robinson began playing in the Negro Leagues, but he was soon chosen by Branch Rickey, a vice president with the Brooklyn Dodgers, to help integrate major league baseball. He joined the all–white Montreal Royals, a farm team for the Brooklyn Dodgers, in 1945. He moved to Florida in 1946 to begin spring training with the Royals, and played his first game on March 17 of that same year. Jackie Robinson succeeded in putting the prejudice and racial strife aside, and showed everyone what a talented player he was. In his first year, he hit 12 home runs and helped the Dodgers win the National League pennant. That year, Robinson led the National League in stolen bases and was selected as Rookie of the Year. He continued to wow fans and critics alike with impressive feats, such as an outstanding .342 batting average during the 1949 season. He led in stolen bases that year and earned the National League's Most Valuable Player Award.Robinson soon became a hero of the sport, even among former critics, and was the subject for the popular song, "Did You See Jackie Robinson Hit That Ball?" An exceptional base runner, Robinson stole home 19 times in his career, setting a league record. He also became the highest-paid athlete in Dodgers history, and his success in the major leagues opened the door for other African-American players, such as Satchel Paige, Willie Mays, and Hank Aaron.

Blog Exercise 10B:

What else has the UAE done to try to ensure human rights for its workers and to stop human trafficing? Why is this important for the (your) government to take this stand??

The United Arab Emirates to the protection of workers dramatically and concern for the rights of workers within the United Arab Emirates where he developed the state a lot of laws to protect workers where he developed the law obliging all companies to open an account in the banks and the banks of the workers for the protection of workers' salaries and put the law not to work in the afternoon in the summer and the most important thing state when some workers are doing tricks of the temporary contractual workers that the UAE receives every year from across the world are deceived by labor recruitment agencies and become victims of human trafficking. For the majority of trafficked persons, it is only when they arrive in the UAE that they realise that the work they were promised does not exist and they are forced instead to take up employment in other jobs or under conditions to which they did not give consent . Since the deceit begins before the workers leave their home countries, the importance of partnering with source and transit countries is now paramount to the UAE's strategy.

Because it required all people to abide by laws and respect their lead to make the country stable, secure and raise the prestige of the state in the global protection of human rights

4.    What is the famous quote from Shylock which reminds all of us of our humanity?
·         I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Christian is? If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.

6.    Now make your own map showing how Emiratis see the world:
